Vintage Handmade ceramic sake jars (tokkuri) and cups (ochoko) in a kappa (mythical Japanese water creature) motif.
The main jar is shaped like a turtle shell with a removable mushroom-shaped lid, and 5 small unique cups accompany it.
This is a handmade ceramic sake mushroom-shaped stopper/lid. The set includes a central serving vessel and 5 small, handleless cups, consistent with a traditional Japanese sake set or a unique, artisanal tea set.
The set is characterized by:
Material: Glazed ceramic with a rustic, earthy finish in brown and cream colors.
Design: The main vessel features a textured, segmented design, resembling a tortoise shell or abstract foliage, topped with a prominent, light-colored mushroom cap and stem that serves as a stopper.
Signed on the bottom by the maker. Vintage condition there is one small chip on the stopper and the vessel has glazing. No visible chips on the cups. Please review all photos for details.
